Drone farming and surveying services

Welcome to Agriflight, Belgian specialist in agricultural and surveying services by UAS (or drones).

Agriflight works with two types of drones:

1. Those used for data collection. They are small because they are designed to carry sensors, such as cameras, thermal cameras, laser rangefinders, multispectral, hyperspectral, LiDAR sensors, etc. They generally weigh between 1 and 10kg.

2. Those used for spraying liquid products and spreading granules or seeds. They are much larger, because they must be able to carry several kilos of liquids or solids. Their size varies greatly depending on the quantity of products they are intended to transport. They generally weigh between 20 and 100kg.

These drones allow new agricultural techniques of which here are some examples:

  • Work in high crops without damage and without soil compaction

  • Working on soil that is too loose for tractors

  • Collection of data to help with decision making

  • Collect data to track crop progress and detect problems early

  • Work from above (in arboriculture, viticulture)

  • High precision and rigor of work by automated flights and RTK technology

  • Low volume spray

European law currently prohibits the transport of so-called “dangerous” materials for health or the environment, which is, among other things, the case of phytosanitary products. But if this law evolves, we could imagine other applications such as:

  • Remote spraying of phytosanitary products

  • Reduction in the use of phytosanitary products (due to increased precision and modularity of doses)

All this goes in the direction of the new agricultural trend, that of precision farming. The right dose, in the right place, at the right time.

Then, in order to support these activities and with a view to diversification, Agriflight has also specialized in environmental analysis with drones. This ranges from a few photos for the real estate sector to extensive analyzes including thousands of photos, photogrammetry software and powerful servers to represent the world in 2D maps or 3D models with very high precision. On the example below you can see how a 3d model can be used to determine the optimal placement of solar panels.
